AIFC’s Statement of Commitment to Sustainable Finance Principles
The AIFC declared its commitment to the principles of sustainable financing, which contribute to strengthening and actively encouraging stakeholders to harmonize their activities with the priorities of sustainable development of Kazakhstan.
These principles are voluntary and represent the first stage of the AIFC's work as part of the implementation of ESG reporting for companies listed on the AIX.

This project was established to assist the AIFC scope, conceptualize and initiate development of a domestic green financial system. The Strategy of ensuring regional leadership of the AIFC in the sphere of green finance until the year 2025 (2017, Astana)
In accordance with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the Republic of Kazakhstan aims to achieve a just, rights-based, equitable and inclusive world. Well-timed steps taken on the introduction of elements of sustainable development into the strategic plans for the development of the Republic will allow Kazakhstan to enter a new stage of forming a sustainable future and become a leader in the region. Taking into account the created favorable conditions and the geographic position of Kazakhstan, the AIFC should become a regional hub of green finance promoting the development and management of green financing instruments in the Central Asian and Eastern European region, linking the best world practices of the West and the East.
AIX Green Bonds Rules
This Rules form part of the AIX Rules and apply to Issuers. The Rules are designed to facilitate a liquid AIX Market, to protect the interests of Issuers and investors, and to protect the integrity of the AIX Market and the AIFC community.

In this regard, the high-tech platform of Astana Expo-2017 will provide a physical infrastructure for research in the field of green technologies while AIFC can participate in its financial component.

AIFC is a financial hub for Central Asia, the Caucasus, EAEU, the Middle East, West China, Mongolia and Eastern Europe. It operates within a special legal regime based on Common Law and is aimed at the development of the financial market. The AIFC Green Finance Centre provides the development of green finance policies and green finance tools.
